  • Future improvement to show tempo of a lift

    I would like a way to denote a certain tempo for each exercise in the standard format.

    Ex. I want to do squats 3 sets of 8 at a 321 tempo
    3= lowering phase
    2= how long you hold at the bottom
    1= the actual lift

    or if there is a way could you show me where/how.

    thanks

    Just to +1 this.... nothing fancy. There are a lot of German Body Comp programs out there that require you to have a certain tempo for the lift. I just want to be able to put the tempo into the exercise just as I put in the rest, set and target rep entries for the routine. It may even be a note for the exercise(Not the daily log notes, but that's where I'm putting it now). One that shows up when you start the exercise.
    eg... 40x1 = 4 seconds to lower (negative)
    0 seconds pause at the bottom of the eccentric phase
    x seconds for concentric (lifting) phase (X meaning as fast as you can)
    1 second pause at the top of the concentric (lifting) phase.

      That would be amazing !!!!

        I too would like to see a place to put the tempo of my workout. I purchased a genetic test from fitnessgenes.com and one of the things they stress is the tempo of the exercise. Although, they normally denote it as a 4 digit number, not 3. Here is their definition:

        TEMPO:
        Duration at which the stage of an exercise movement should be carried out.
        - The first number denotes the eccentric movement (where the muscle worked is lengthened).
        - The second number denotes holding the weight in the eccentric position.
        - The third number denotes the concentric movement (where the muscle worked is shortened).
        - The fourth number denotes holding the weight in the concentric position.

        Example:
        Bench press 3010 tempo:
        - Take 3 seconds for the eccentric phase (lowering)
        - No pause at the bottom point of the exercise
        - 1 second on the concentric phase (lifting)
        - No pause at the top

          Just to add on to this request. Would it be possible to also have a similar feature within the clock to have beeps/clicks for each phase
          eg:
          x seconds pause at the bottom of the eccentric phase [High Beep]
          y seconds for concentric (lifting) phase (X meaning as fast as you can) [Medium Beep]
          z second pause at the top of the concentric (lifting) phase. [Low Beep]
          each variable [x,y,z] can be setup for each exercise and possibly even each rep.

          This will tie in to your exercise timer. I would like to go further and even setup an automated Tabata type clock for each exercise
          eg1 :
          w seconds exercise [Beep]
          v seconds rest [Beep]

          eg2: Sets
          for each rep do {
          x seconds pause at the bottom of the eccentric phase [High Beep]
          y seconds for concentric (lifting) phase (X meaning as fast as you can) [Medium Beep]
          z second pause at the top of the concentric (lifting) phase. [Low Beep]
          }
          v seconds rest [Beep]

          This way we don't have to keep hitting the start and stop button each time.
