  • Log Date Inconsistencies

    Hi.

Does anyone else have this problem?

When I choose an exercise from the Exercise Library on the android Jefit app, hit the 'Do It' button, enter the details and save, it always displays in the log with the previous day's date.

For example: Today is 16 May. I choose Glute Bridge from the Exercise Library, enter a single 1h 23m 45s bridge (I wish!) and save it. It shows on 15 May in the log:

When I do a Sync, the exercise appears on the correct date in the log on the web site:

If everything worked that way, I could live with it. But it doesn't. If I enter details of an exercise chosen from a Routine, rather than directly from the Exercise Library, the log dates are correct.

So when I do a routine and want to do additional ad hoc exercises chosen from the library, the stuff gets split over two different dates in the log on the phone. I often do exercises on consecutive days, which means log entries become merged into a real mess and makes it impossible to sort out what was done on what day when I try to review my log.

This bug has crept in with a recent version upgrade. I wonder whether there is any testing of stuff in different time zones (e.g. right now we are a day ahead of some time zones in the world.)

Thanks Robert for your reply and investigation. Web site shows things on the correct days for me. Problem is with Jefit Pro 6.0507 running on a Samsung Galaxy S2 (model GT-I900) on Android 4.1.2. Seems odd to me to suspect the device. It's a new bug that's come in only around late April.

Incidentally you may recall that I'm getting a numeric keyboard but without a decimal point key where I enter weight values for an exercise. I've found if I change my phone settings from using Samsung keyboard to Swype (not my preference for several reasons) I do get the correct keyboard.

But apps (including Jefit) can be coded to force the correct keyboard because, regardless of which keyboard setting I use, the correct keyboard appears where you enter body stats - as it does for many other apps where I need to be able to enter decimal numbers.

Date issue appears to have been fixed now. Thanks
        But not the keypad problem.

Hmmm. Seems I spoke a little too soon about the dates being fixed. There are still problems with dates not sync'ing correctly.

If I change the date of the workout exercises in my log on the phone (you can't edit the date on the website), they do get moved to the correct date in the phone app, but the website logs get messed up. On the website, the workout icon (white barbell in blue circle) gets moved to the correct date on the monthly log view, but the workout details themselves get left behind in the original date!

So, one example from my recent log:
I originally planned a workout for 5 August and entered it into my log on the phone app. Turns out I had to do the workout a day earlier than planned, so I edited the date of each exercise to make it 4 August. On the phone the workout icon correctly moved back from 5 August to 4 August and the exercises can be viewed by clicking on that date. On the website however, while the workout icon correctly moved back from 5 August to 4 August, if I click on 4 August I see no exercises. If I click on 5 August (a date with no workout icon on it) I see the exercises.

I have sync'ed multiple times to see if things got corrected, but they didn't.

Perhaps I'm the only guy in the world who likes to enter my exercises (with weights and reps) into the log before I do them. I like to know what weights I should be doing when I go to do them, not make them up as I go. Hence I usually post the details to the log in advance and only make corrections if I don't make the expected reps or, as in the case above, if I have to change the workout date.

I have that problem as well. I have a Samsung S4. I logged my exercises on the website and when I synced to my phone all of the exercises showed up on the day before I actually did them.

To correct it I had to edit each day and each exercise.

The interesting thing is when I clicked on say 12/18/2014 to change the date to 12/19/2014, that 12/19/2014 was already in there. But on the calendar view it shows that the exercise was done on the 18th.

              There's definitely a bug.

This bug is bad. I just synced from my phone and it wiped out my exercise log on the website from 12/21/2014 and then reset my previous 3 days worth of logs to the day before. So for example What was on 12/20/2014 is now on 12/19/2014.
My phone data however appears to remain correct.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and am using the Jefit free android app.

The above seems like the infamous "off by one" programming error.

I am in software engineering myself and can assist with troubleshooting, testing, etc. if necessary.

I have this problem on a Samsung Galaxy S6 whenever I change time zones. I normally live in Central time, but sometimes I fly to Eastern time. Even though my phone updates to the correct time, any workouts I do in the new time zone will be off by one day. The exercise logs will be on the correct day, but the notes will be one day prior. This bug has remained through different versions of the app.
